About Thread Painting
Thread Painting is a process by which a photograph is printed on a piece of fabric, usually cotton, and covered with stitching using a sewing machine. The goal for me was to use free-motion stitching (I hand guide the stitching, no computer work is involved), covering and enhancing the image with thread. The resulting work is both textural and realistic.

Using a stock photo (photographer unknown), Sandra decided to practice on a beautiful house cat. A simple quilted border frames the work.
